These Smashed Burgers bring all the classic flavors of a cheeseburger to your plate, but with a crispy potato twist! Perfectly smashed and roasted potatoes are topped with seasoned ground beef, caramelized onions, melted cheese, and a drizzle of a tangy secret sauce.   1. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Boil the potatoes in salted water for 10–15 minutes, or until fork-tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onions and sauté for 5–7 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
  3. Place the boiled potatoes on a baking sheet. Gently smash them with the back of a glass. Drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Optional: Roast in the oven for 15 minutes or until crispy.
  4. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Add ketchup, thousand island, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook until fully browned.
  5. Top each smashed potato with a spoonful of beef, caramelized onions, and a slice of cheese. Bake for 5–8 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  6. Finish with shredded lettuce, diced pickles, and a generous drizzle of the secret sauce. Serve warm and enjoy!
